Working with couples planning their ‘big day’ is, for me, a collaboration. I begin my meeting with couples in a relaxed way, asking questions, making notes, beginning to get an idea of who they are, and what they want for their ceremony. Based on this, I write a ceremony for each couple, which I then send them, so they can make any changes they wish, and add in their own vows. As well, I guide the couple through the legal requirements of marrying in Aotearoa New Zealand. As a registered celebrant, that’s an important part of my job.

Through this process, I create a ceremony they are both happy with, and there’s no chance of mistakes. It helps everyone feel more relaxed on their very special day. At the ceremony, I guide the couple, their attendants and guests through it with warmth and confidence. Here are some comments from my HCs (Happy Couples!)
